Program One:The Importance of Self-Image

Introduced by actor Don Hastings, this initial segment provides an overview of self-image and discusses several theories to explain how personality develops.  Ken Moss and his students explore communication and classroom structure, John Sherin conducts a robot simulation, and Dr. Gerry Edwards introduces an activity known as the “Fishbowl.”

Program Two: The Adolescent's Self-Image

This program explores the attitudes and feelings of the adolescent as s/he struggles to examine personal beliefs and behaviors.  Students at the Maslow-Toffler School of Futuristic Education in Brentwood, New York, demonstrate classroom simulations that can help young people learn to assume responsibility for their own self-actualization.  Dr. Gerry Edwards continues demonstrating the “Fishbowl,” Milt Siler conducts an Orientation activity called “My Bag,” while in an adjacent classroom other students are “Breaking In.”
